What is Gridfinity?
Gridfinity is a great way for anyone who has a computer to make money by doing almost nothing at all! All across the world people use supercomputers to do medical research, 3D modeling, and run hundreds of other performance-intensive applications. However, the initial capital expenditures and recurring costs of these computations are enormous, and Gridfinity aims to use the resources we already have. Most people use their computer for only a few hours a day, while the rest of the time it remains powered on, but idle. During this idle time, your computer could be aiding in computations for which businesses are paying large sums of money. Gridfinity helps connect you with these buyers. By spending 5-10 minutes registering and performing a one-time download of our application, you can start earning cash today! That's all there is to it!
How does it work?
When you download the Gridfinity software, it will remain running silently on your computer, periodically checking in with the Gridfinity servers for work. By default, Gridfinity will only be active when you are not using the computer. Whenever there is work to be done, the Gridfinity program will automatically download the necessary programs, "crunch the numbers", and send the results back to our servers. No intervention by you is ever needed--you will in fact be earning money while you sleep! Every so often, you may check your account status on our website to see how much money you've earned, and cash out to your Paypal account.
Is Gridfinity safe?
Gridfinity's underlying client is derived from the open source project BOINC. The BOINC user-base numbers in the millions and is considered to be the world's most powerful computing resource. BOINC projects exist for all sorts of specific tasks including medical research and search for extraterrestrial intellegence. Gridfinity aims to connect this user-base with industries willing to pay these same users for their computing resources. The BOINC framework is a tried and true method for running distributed computing projects.
On top of the networking client, Gridfinity also employs virtualization through the use of open source project QEMU. The use of virtualization gives a strong layer of protection and isolation for Gridfinity users, and also offers consistent environments for Gridfinity buyers. Since all software distributed to Gridfinity users is completely encapsulated, you may feel at ease knowing your computer is protected and private information is kept safe.
How much will I get payed?
Gridfinity charges customers $0.30 per CPU hour, as scaled such that each CPU is equal. That is, if you have a slow computer, you would earn less per hour, and if you have a fast computer, you would earn more. We discount our own costs of maintaining the Gridfinity system, and then return to the customer a percentage of the income. Our introductory offer yields 90% of this income to you.
For example, if you have a slower computer, you may end up computing at $0.20 per hour. If you leave your computer on all the time and use it 4 hours a day, you could compute about 140 in a week. If our overhead cost is $0.01 per hour, you would then receive 140*0.90*$0.19=$23.94 a week, or over $1,200 a year!
